Fave YouTube Channels

I find myself watching YouTube much more often than regular TV. I love the personal vlog nature of the channels, and the coverage of niche topics and interest areas. This page features some of my favourite YouTube channels.

Off-Grid

Project Kamp is a sustainable off-grid project in Portugal. An enjoyable weekly video watch on YouTube. The team are using natural and recycled building techniques, permaculture, and renewable energy to create a self-sufficient community. Details of their projects are released as open source on their website.

Off-Grid

Andrew's channel is a really enjoyable watch. He's a Brit who has moved to Portugal and is living off-grid. He's a great storyteller and his videos are a mix of vlogs, how-tos, and general life in Portugal. He's also a great advocate for mental health and has a very positive outlook on life. His two dogs often feature in the videos.

Renovation

Follow Kylie and Guy on their adventure renovating an old house in Portugal. Lots of how-tos, how-not-tos, garden produce, cats, chickens, laughs, and homemade wine along the way.

Travel

Maggie's videos have a lovely aesthetic and are very informative. She's a travel vlogger who shares her experiences and tips for packing light. Her videos are very relaxing to watch and she has a great sense of humour.

Off-Grid

Maya is undertaking a huge project to restore a row of stone houses in Portugal. Her videos are informative and relaxing to watch. She's a great advocate for sustainable living and is very open about the challenges she faces.

Off-Grid

A really interesting channel following the progress of renovating an abandoned 1960's desert homestead to be a sustainable dream home. Lots of great desert scenary, and vlogs showing all the hard work to make the dream a reality. There's also a super cute little dog.

Renovation

Dexter's World is a great channel to watch if you're interested in house renovations. Dexter is a young guy who has bought a house in the USA and is renovating it himself. His videos are short and funny, and he's very open about the challenges he faces.

Renovation

Another enjoyable channel about a young person renovating a house in Portugal. The videos aren't updated regularly due to the JD's work commitments, but the content is great and personal.

Gardening

I love Mark's channel. He's an Australian gardener who shares his tips for growing your own food. His videos are full of great gardening tips and plenty of Dad Jokes. He's very open about the challenges he faces and is a great advocate for sustainable living. I find his content extra useful as he's only located about an hour and half from me, so the tips are very relevant.

Gardening

I've been following Kevin's channel for quite a while now and have at least one of his books. It's a great resource for gardening tips. Although he's based in the USA, his climate isn't too different to ours so a lot of his tips are relevant. His videos are full of great advice for planning your garden, no matter how small, and growing your own food.
